FLAM AWARDS
Each year FLAM recognizes students, educators, and communities members for their commitment to foreign language study and education. Click on the links below to learn more information about each award and to access the nomination forms.

Excellence in Foreign Language Study Award:
Awarded to a junior or senior secondary student who exhibits superior performance abilities in the foreign language classroom. The nominating teacher must be a current member of FLAM.
Outstanding Future Foreign Language Teacher:
Awarded to a post-secondary student who exhibits superior performance in a foreign language program. The nominating teacher must be a current member of FLAM.
Friend of Foreign Language Award:
Presented to an individual or group from outside the foreign language teaching profession who has made significant contributions to the teaching and learning of foreign languages. The nominating teacher must be a current member of FLAM.
Distinguished Foreign Language Educator:
Presented to an outstanding Missouri teacher who has significantly and positively impacted foreign language teaching and learning. The honoree must be and have been a member of FLAM for the past consecutive five years. The honoree must have a minimum of ten years teaching experience at elementary, middle, secondary or post-secondary level. The nominating teacher must be a current member of FLAM. The winner is eligible to move on to compete for the CSC Teacher of the Year.
FLAM Lifetime Achievement Award:
New for 2009. Presented to an outstanding Missouri teacher who has devoted his/her professional career to the improvement of foreign language learning. The honoree must be within two years of retirement or recently retired and must have been a member of FLAM for the past consecutive five years. The honoree must have a minimum of fifteen years teaching experience at elementary, middle, secondary or post-secondary level. The nominating teacher must be a current member of FLAM.
