FLAM Mini Grants for Teaching

What grants are available?
Each year FLAM awards a $1,000 grant and a $500 grant.

Who is eligible?
FLAM members (individuals or a collaborative), K-16, who have been in the organization for at least the last two years, and who are/will be teaching in Missouri during the year of the grant, current Executive Board and Awards Committee Members excluded.

What is the purpose of the grant?
The grant money is to be used for improvement of instruction.

What may be funded through the grant?
The grant money may be used for innovative classroom projects, supplies, realia, special classroom materials, travel, meals, lodging, conference registration, and admission fees.

If I receive the grant, what are my responsibilities?
You must write an article for the FLAM newsletter and present at the FLAM conference the following year.

How will my grant application be evaluated?
Applicants are to articulate their grant proposal using the following score guide criteria:

Clear benefit that extends beyond individual teacher to FLAM membership

Project beneficial only to immediate teacher and participants

Measurable Evaluation Plan

Clear, measurable evaluation for every objective identified

Evaluation is fairly clear but not every objective addressed

Evaluation not measurable or not consistently tied to identified objectives

Proposal Appearance

Proposal is neatly typed with no grammatical or spelling errors

Proposal is generally professional in format

Proposal lacks professional appearance
