Missouri Seal of Biliteracy Policy UPDATE
July 1, 2018 Re: Revisions to the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy Policy (July 2018) The AAPPL score for the standard Seal will be adjusted to reflect expectations of Missouri universities recognizing the Seal. Students taking the AAPPL must earn a score if Intermediate 3 (I3) in each domain to qualify for the standard Seal. Seal of Biliteracy (SoBL)
As school winds down to a close there is much to be celebrated. With relation to the Seal of Biliteracy, Missouri districts have so far awarded exactly 150 Seals: 120 Spanish, 8 Distinguished Spanish, 3 German, 1 Distinguished German, 12 French, 1 Mandarin and 5 Russian. At the CSCTFL Delegate Assembly in Chicago last month, ACTFL President Dessa Dawson shared some startling statistics about the current U.S. teacher shortage. Within the next three years, some 1.5 million new teachers will need to be hired simply to keep up with current demand.
