FLAM's New Secretary - Susan Lynn
The FLAMily would like to introduce its newest board member, Susan Lynn as Secretary.

¡Hola! My name is Susan Lynn and I am happy to be joining the FLAM Board as the new Secretary. I am a Spanish teacher and the International Languages Department Chair at Liberty North High School. My BSEd and MSEd are from the University of Kansas, and I also have an MSEd in Differentiated Instruction from William Jewell College.
I was honored with the 2017 FLAM Distinguished Educator Award which sent me to Milwaukee as the Missouri nominee for the Central States Teacher of the Year in 2018.

This is my 25th year as a teacher, and I have seen a lot over that time. I began teaching with VHS cassettes and a TV on a cart as a "high tech" way of bringing culture into my classroom. Now I can bring in the morning's news from Spain, show commercials from Guatemala, or check Twitter to see what is trending in Argentina.

Culture at our fingertips is changing the focus of language education from simply memorizing grammar rules and vocabulary to content rich discussions which give us a better understanding of the world and people around us.
It is an exciting time to be a teacher, and I look forward to helping support professional development and collaboration through FLAM.
